Case Study: BIZON Commercial, Product Film and CGI
How we made the BIZON energy drink launch film: real product cinematography combined with CGI liquid motion in one 35-second commercial.
BIZON is an energy drink, and its launch film had to make the product feel like energy itself. PROS.CRTV shot it in a hybrid style: real product cinematography combined with high-end CGI, so liquid motion and electric detail could be pushed further than a camera alone allows.
The Task
A drink commercial lives or dies on the product shots. The can, the liquid and the brand colours have to look perfect in every frame, and the film has to feel as fast and bold as the brand promises: "Made to thrill. Made to charge."
How It Was Made
- Product cinematography. The real product was filmed on set, so the can, the labels and the textures read as real.
- CGI. Computer-generated liquid motion and electric effects were added where a camera could not get the look on its own.
- One film. Live action and CGI were combined into a single film with one look.
The Result
A 35-second product film built for the launch: a visual embodiment of energy, performance and bold design.
When CGI Makes Sense in a Commercial
CGI is worth it when the idea needs something a camera cannot capture: liquid that behaves on cue, macro detail, impossible camera moves or a product that is not manufactured yet. For everything else, a well-lit real product is faster and cheaper. Planning which shots are filmed and which are generated happens at the concept stage, so the shoot day and the post-production budget fit together.
